About PatentLingo
Who We Are
PatentLingo is an assisted translation workbench for patent translators and agents. We focus on a problem generic machine translation tools consistently get wrong: terminology drift, imprecise claim language, and reference numerals or formatting that get scrambled during translation.
Our Mission
A patent translation has to withstand line-by-line review. Our mission is to give patent translators and agents a workbench that can produce a translation automatically, while also letting a human review and adjust the key decisions — not an opaque machine-translation black box.
What We Do
- A three-stage pipeline: identify the technical domain and consult our built-in domain-specific patent terminology database for established terminology, build a single glossary for the whole document, then translate block by block on a single thread to keep the entire document consistent.
- One term, one translation: the same source expression keeps the same translation everywhere in the document — no mixing, no drift.
- Two modes: Auto mode for a fast, default translation; Assisted mode for reviewing and adjusting the domain input, glossary and translation guidance before the full run.
- Claim-grade accuracy: reference numerals, figure labels and antecedent relationships are treated as high-authority content and preserved as-is.
- LLMs fine-tuned to patent-office drafting conventions: fine-tuned to the drafting conventions of major patent offices (CNIPA/USPTO/EPO), built to assist — not replace — a translator's professional judgment.
